A Mans Bestfriend.
I think everyone knows just how much I love my dog. I have my own husky that will be 2 in December. Her name is Lana Faye (after Lana Del Rey), and she is seriously my absolute best friend. I feel like people just don't understand what a pet means to you until they have their own. I actually had 5 dogs growing up. I loved them all to death of course, but I never felt a connection with them like I do with Lana. Lana was a gift to me from my boyfriend for Christmas. We raised her all by ourselves. We paid for food, the vet, toys, everything.
There's not a thing in the world that I wouldn't do for miss Lana. She's a sassy little freak, always yelling in your face till she gets her way, she will never sleep anywhere else besides cuddled up with you on the bed. I only live about an hour away from North Central so I go home to see her every chance I get. I wish I could bring her to campus but she's absolutely nuts so I don't quite think she would do okay in a boxy room. Being around her takes all of my worries away.
It seems like it's kind of hard for some people to see what having a dog can do for your life. When I'm upset or stressing out, the first thing I want to do is hug my girl. In a way, I feel like Lana saved my life. I used to always feel lonely, but when I have her I always have someone to talk to. Dogs obviously can't talk, but Lana can. She's crazy and will bark and howl at you for ten minutes straight. I have never brought her to meet someone and they didn't just love her and think she's such a character. Being around her makes me forget that I'm surrounded by work and responsibility. I feel like I have my own little family and that's what keeps me going everyday. I work as hard as I can because I can't wait to have my own house and starting with just me, David and Lana and us working up to have a big family one day. it's so nice to have your future as such strong motivation.
