Chasing Coral.
For our documentary project, I decided to watch Chasing Coral. At first, I thought this was a little boring and it seemed as if the story just went on forever. After watching and really paying attention a second tie around, I fell in love with this project. A team of scientists set out together to try to change the ocean forever.
A scene that truly stood out to me, was when the scientists had created a new camera just to capture the perfect time lapse video of the corals changing. These people cared so much about this event, that when the first and second attempt of the camera failed, they just did not give up. They waited for months to finally get the footage that they needed. They traveled the world, attended conventions, spoke at schools, etc. just to get this footage out to make a difference. They eventually got people from all over the world to speak out on this issue.
This film made me feel like we should all be trying to make a change. It can never be easy to fix something that the world has messed up so badly, but if you get enough people to try, you can achieve anything. I already hate littering. You will never see me throw something out of the window of a car or seeing me put the wrong item into a recycling bin. I wish more people could see that there are beautiful things in the world being harshly damaged by small action we decide to do.
