Food on campus
I have a massive bone to pick with our food supplier on campus. When you are on campus, living in a dorm, you have close to no food options. The dining hall food is basically inedible 5/7 days a week. ABP is expensive and they close way too early. The only good thing in the cage is pizza, but how many days a week can you spend money and eat pizza? I'm not a picky person at all, but I feel as if I have no money for myself because all of it has to go to Walmart trips to buy my own food.
Most college students can not find the time to get jobs. I have classes all day long M/W/F. I have my class in the middle of the day T/Th to where I would have no time to work before or after. Along with homework and studying, I only have maybe two hours of free time a day leaving me 0 time to work. Luckily, I have a very awesome and generous mom that will make me a couple meals to bring back to school with me. I only go home every couple of weekends, so those run our fairly fast.
As for college athletes, they have no time to eat during the day. Most practices run till almost 9 somedays. Kman closes at 8:30 and everything else closes far before then. This can cause so much stress if they also do not have time to work or don't have a car to go get food. There has been times where I have had to spend 40$ on doordash (because it's expensive as all hell for some reason) just because the food was terrible and I hadn't eaten for hours. I have heard that other schools have food that is made to order, or their halls are open till even 2 in the morning. I don't think it's asking for too much. Everyone here pays a crazy amount of money to go to this school. Why should we be spending 100$ every other week on groceries too?
